  1.     Welcome to PowerBBS for Windows (Shareware).  An an <ASP>
  2. product, this is a true Shareware package.  The following
  3. illustrates installing PowerBBS.  It is suggested that you
  4. also take a look at the PBBSDOC.WRI file on disk #3 of the
  5. shareware distribution for a complete introduction to PowerBBS.
  6. This file is in Windows Write format.  Simply run WRITE.EXE
  7. from within windows and load this file, for easy viewing and
  8. printing.

  10.     Upgrading From Previous Version

  12.     Follow the normal instructions for installing as explained
  13. below.  If SETUP determines that you already have PowerBBS set
  14. up, it will only replace the files that are newer than the ones
  15. already found on your system.

  17.     Installing

  19.     Create a temporary directory on your drive (for example TEMP).
  20. PKUNZIP the shareware files onto this directory.  Then from
  21. within the Windows Program Manager select File, Run, SETUP.EXE
  22. (you can use the browse button to find SETUP.EXE).

  24.     SETUP first needs to know where the files are located.  If you
  25. are installing from the A drive, then you simply need to put A:\.
  26.  
  27.     SETUP also needs to know where to install PowerBBS to.  If you
  28. want to install to your C: drive, put C:\.  For the D drive, put
  29. D:\, and so on.

  31.     PowerBBS will now be installed in its default configuration. 
  32. When the SETUP program is finished, you will have a fully
  33. functional, local node.  Keep in mind that SETUP also needs to
  34. create a users file, and will ask you for your user Name and
  35. password.  You must have this information to log onto your BBS
  36. later.  Do not forget them and try to use some unique password
  37. that you are not using on any other system.
